BABY DRIVER movie review by the Commander

With one of the most anticipated films of the season, I couldn't wait to see one of my favorite actors Kevin Spacey and John Hamm in what is sure to become a cult classic. Director Edgar Wright puts together an all-star cast with fast cars, action scenes, comedy and lots and lots of music. How could you possibly go wrong?

The story is pretty simple.  It's all about a young kid who's forced into becoming a getaway driver (like no other), for a crime boss that robs banks utilizing a different crew on each caper. Having difficulty with the hearing loss suffered in an automobile accident at an early age, he listens to music to drown out the continuous ringing in his ears.

Yeah, sure they have been lots of other movies like this such as Driver (1978), The Italian Job (1969), Drive (2011).  But this film is way cooler. Think of taking La La Land and mixing it with the Fast and Furious. You get a fun entertaining explosive film with comedy, action, background love story, zany cast of characters and overall entertainment.

I could go over so much more but you really need to see this for yourself.  The cast of Ansell Elgort, Jon Bernthal, Jamie Foxx, Eliza González,  Lanny Joone, Flea and Lily James make for a great ensemble.

So, the question is, where did they come up with the name Baby Driver? I guess you'll just have to wait to the ending credits to find out. The secret is in the music.
