When I first heard of this movie I thought it was a Disney movie remake of Pinocchio "when you wish upon a star" sung by Geppetto. Make sense, right? Not!

Believe it or not, this is supposed to be a scary movie which unfortunately turned into a childish, immature, delightfully simplistic teenage flick about a girl who comes upon a magic box that grants her seven wishes. Now it sounds like Disney's Aladdin, don't you agree?

The only difference is that when you wish for something as in cause and effect something bad is going to happen to somebody.  Once you learn that somebody is going to die every time you wish for something it becomes delightfully childish and humorous to see who's next, stealing the plot from Ten Little Indians. A total waste of the talents of Joey King, Ryan Phillippe, Elizabeth Rohm and Ki Hong Lee.

I lost count of how many times the audience was laughing during the scary moments. I could spend a lot of time ripping this movie apart but why bother?

If you're a teenager and you like these type of films, by all means, go see it on date night but for everyone else wait till it comes on your local television set and then change channels. You'll be doing yourself a favor.
